Terms of Use
Last updated 21 August 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and [DEVELOPER LEGAL ENTITY] ("Amen Scroll", "we", "us"), the operator of the Amen Scroll app and the amenscroll.com website (together, the "Service"). They also serve as the end user license agreement (EULA) for the app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. By creating an account, starting a subscription, or posting content, you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms.
1. The Service
Amen Scroll is a verse-by-verse scripture reading app with study commentary, audio read-aloud, public comments ("Voices"), and a prayer wall. The app includes 4 public-domain Bible translations, including the full Catholic canon. Study material is commentary drawn from public-domain sources and always carries dated citations; it is never presented as scripture itself.
2. Your subscription
Amen Scroll requires a subscription; there is no free tier. Access to the app is provided through one of two auto-renewable plans:
- Monthly: $4.99 per month.
- Yearly: $29.99 per year, starting with a 7-day free trial. The free trial is available on the yearly plan only.
Prices are in US dollars; the exact price in your local currency is shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
Renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase, or, for the yearly plan with a free trial, at the end of the 7-day trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated price until canceled. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the free trial or the current billing period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- The 7-day free trial converts to a paid yearly subscription at $29.99 per year unless you cancel before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current trial or billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Apple (iOS): open Settings on your device, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Amen Scroll, then tap Cancel Subscription. You can also manage subscriptions at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Google Play (Android): open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, tap Payments and subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, choose Amen Scroll, then tap Cancel subscription. You can also manage subscriptions at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Billing is handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by the store where you purchased; see the Support page for refund request paths.
3. Accounts
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with an email one-time code. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app or as described on the account deletion page.
4. Your content
You may post content to public areas of the Service: Voices on verses and requests on the prayer wall ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content within the Service, for the purpose of operating and moderating the Service. This license continues for content that has been anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy and on the account deletion page: if you delete your account, your prayers and voices are detached from your identity rather than erased, so that shared threads of prayer and comment remain whole for the people in them.
You must have the rights to anything you post, and you accept the Community Guidelines before your first post.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to harass, threaten, or demean anyone; to post hate speech, sexual content, spam, or commercial solicitation; to impersonate any person; to publish anyone's private information; or to interfere with the operation or security of the Service. The Community Guidelines describe in detail what is welcome and what is not in Voices and on the prayer wall.
6. Moderation and enforcement
Public areas of the Service are moderated. We may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or the Community Guidelines, and we may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts following the enforcement ladder described in the Community Guidelines. Serious violations can result in immediate suspension. You can report content and block users in the app; appeals go to [email protected].
7. Our content
The scripture texts in the app are public-domain translations. The app's design, name, flame mark, commentary compilations, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the usage rules of the store you downloaded it from.
8. Disclaimers
Amen Scroll is a reading and community app. It is not professional counseling, medical, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for the care of a pastor, counselor, or physician. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page shows when these Terms were last revised.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including licenses to anonymized content, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict of law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of the place where you live.
